
Billy O'Brien
A BAFTA nominated director and screenwriter, Billy recently rewrote the action thriller INVERTIGO for Capstone and Tea Shop Productions, which is currently in post-production starring Inde Navarrette (Obsession).
Road To Achill an original screenplay co-written with Alan Friel (Woken ) is in development with Screen Ireland.
His nerve-jangling I Am Not A Serial Killer (starring Christopher Lloyd, Max Records and Laura Fraser), premiered at SXSW and was released by IFC in North America. Nominated for 3 BIFAs (British Independent Film Awards), including Best Screenplay. It currently holds a well-earned 93 Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Billy has written screenplays for Bad Robot, Paramount, Film Four, Working Title, Screen Ireland and many more.
His first feature was Isolation, produced by Film Four, Screen Ireland and Lionsgate with Ruth Negga, Sean Harris, Essie Davis and John Lynch. It, too, won an array of awards, including Best Film and Best Director at Fantastic Fest.
He has twice won the prestigious Méliès d'Argent (Silver Melies) Award from the Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF) a network of 35 film festivals across 21 countries, presenting the award for best European fantastic and horror films.
