Emily Young

Emily Young is a British film director and screenwriter who teaches at the London Film School. She won the Carl Foreman BAFTA award and was nominated for Cannes’ Camera d’Or for her first feature, Kiss of Life.

 

Her second feature - an adaptation of Paolo Coelho’s Veronika Decides to Die in New York produced by Das Films and Muse Films - starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Thewlis and Oscar-winning actress, Melissa Leo.

 

An alumni of the directors’ programme at the internationally renowned Polish National Film School, Emily won the prestigious Cannes Cinéfondation Competition with her graduation film Second Hand.
